Der Bezug zu Zahlen spielt bei Bach eine tragende Rolle. Johann Sebastian Bach hat auf der Grundlage von Zahlen eine unglaubliche Architektur und Botschaft seiner Werke im Geist des „Soli Deo Gloria – Allein Gott zur Ehre“ geschaffen.
Alle Werke dieses Albums stammen von Johann Sebastian Bach oder haben direkt mit ihm zu tun. So hat er das Konzert von Alessandro Marcello für Orgel bearbeitet. Auf dieser Aufnahme erklingt es mit den Bach´schen Ornamenten. Die Komponisten Piazzolla und Schostakowitsch nehmen Bezug zum „Wohltemperierten Klavier“. Im Zentrum steht das Konzert d-Moll BWV 1052. Johann Sebastian Bach hat es für seine Zwecke als Cembalokonzert bearbeitet. Die Originalfassung für ein Streichinstrument, Violine oder Violoncello piccolo, das Bach in Kantaten eingesetzt hat, ist verschollen. Julius Berger und Andrei Pushkarev haben das Werk für Violoncello piccolo, ein um eine Quinte höher gestimmtes Violoncello, instrumentiert. Den Orchesterpart übernehmen Vibraphon und Marimba. Die Übertragung auf andere Instrumente entspricht der Praxis von Bach selbst. Die Besonderheit dieser Aufnahme ist der durchgehende ruhige Puls von ungefähr 60 Schlägen pro Minute, der den Menschen zu sich bringt, nach innen. Die Instrumentenwahl entspricht dem inneren Anliegen dieser Aufnahme: Vibraphon und Marimba im Puls mit dem Herzen und das Cello als Gestalter einer Lebensmelodie – eine moderne Interpretation des Geistes der eingespielten Werke. Die Einheit zwischen Puls der Musik und Puls des Menschen verleiht der Aufnahme eine Aura, von der die Künstler glauben und hoffen, dass das Wort zutrifft, das Bach in seiner Luther Bibel vermerkt: „Bey einer andächtigen Musique ist allezeit Gott mit seiner Gnaden Gegenwart.“
Seit mehr als 40 Jahren ist der in Augsburg geborene Cellist Julius Berger aus dem Musikleben nicht mehr wegzudenken. Und das nicht nur weil er ein wunderbarer Interpret ist, den der berühmte Kritiker Wolf-Eberhard von Lewinski nach seiner zweiten Aufnahme
der Cello-Suiten von Bach einen „Propheten des Cellos“ nannte. Seine jüngste Aufnahme erhielt den begehrten „Supersonic Award“. Andrei Pushkarev (Vibraphon) ist neben seinen Solotätigkeiten auch festes Mitglied des Kremerata Baltica Chamber Orchestra. Bis heute hat er den Status eines anerkannten Solisten sowie eines Hauptpercussionisten dieses Ensembles. Der weltberühmte Geiger Gidon Kremer gründete das Orchester 1997. Seit 1999 tourte Andrei mit Kremerata Baltica um die Welt und nahm an unzähligen Konzerten teil. Pavel Beliaev (Marimba) ist freischaffender Musiker. Neben dem solistischen Spiel gilt seine Leidenschaft vor allem dem Musizieren in kammermusikalischen Formationen. Auch er spielt sehr oft zusammen mit der Kremerata Baltica auf zahlreichen Tourneen.

The Augsburg-born cellist Julius Berger has been an integral part of musical life for more than 40 years. And not just because he is a wonderful interpreter, the famous critic Wolf-Eberhard von Lewinski after his second recording
called the cello suites by Bach a „prophet of the cello“. His most recent recording received the coveted „Supersonic Award“. Andrei Pushkarev (vibraphone) is a permanent member of the Kremerata Baltica Chamber Orchestra in addition to his solo activities. To this day he has the status of a recognized soloist as well as a main percussionist in this ensemble. The world-famous violinist Gidon Kremer founded the orchestra in 1997. Andrei has toured the world with Kremerata Baltica since 1999 and has taken part in countless concerts. Pavel Beliaev (marimba) is a freelance musician.
